Rotate the sash lock at the top of the lower sash to unlock the window. Once the window has been adjusted give each of the 8 screws that you previously loosened a full turn clockwise to tighten them. Then shut the window a few times to confirm that it opens and closes properly. Vinyl windows require a bit more in terms of adjustment but the job still is relatively easy.
